Mouse lemur is about half of the genetic distance between primates, rats, and humans. The mouse lemur is a nocturnal animal of the genus Microcebus. Like all lemurs, a mouse lemur also is native to Madagascar. Pygmy Mouse Lemur is the world’s largest primate. Its head and body are less than two and a half inches long, though slightly more than twice it’s tail length. These threatened nocturnal lemurs live in the dry forests of western Madagascar and rarely leave the forest.
Mouse Lemur
Whereas some species of mouse lemurs are widespread, the recognition of greater diversity indicates that some species are only available in a limited area. Mouse lemurs have head, body, and tail. The length of the body parts is in total is less than 27 cm which is equivalent to 11 inches. This trait ha made them then as the smallest primate. Madame Barth’s mouse lemur is the smallest lemur.
In response to the daylight period, their weight lifts. Lemurs and mice were declared by lemurs IUCN as the most endangered of all vertebrates. In 1992 there were 2 species of mouse lemurs; By 20 by 24, there were 24 It was estimated that 24 mouse lemur species evolved from a common ancestor 10 million years ago. The evolution of mouse lemurs is an example of adaptive radiation. (source)
A mouse lemur shows its power in a field lab in Madagascar before a mouse lemur becomes an important species.
A mouse lemur is ubiquitous; Their diets are varied and depend on the season, including insect bites, arthropods, small spines, gums, fruits, flowers, nectarines, and leaves and buds.
Mouse lemurs are considered cryptic species – with very little size difference between different species, but with high genetic diversity. Recent evidence shows differences in their congruence calls which are very varied. Because mouse lemurs are nocturnal, they may not evolve to look different, but different auditory and vocal systems evolve.
Mouse lemurs have the smallest known brain of any primate at just 0.004 lbs (2 grams). As humans, mouse lemurs can develop symptoms of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease
As stated in genetics, mouse lemurs help animals gain a broader understanding of the biology, behavior, and health of primates. Due to the interesting genetic similarities of both humans and rats, mouse lemurs are classified as primordial primates.
They are among the smallest and fastest-growing primates and are becoming more abundant in Madagascar and around the world. These tiny animals are helping to prove valuable information about the biology and evolution of primates by analyzing their phenotypes and mutations.
Reproduction and evolution
Mouse lemurs also come into attention because of their traits of sperm competition. During the breeding season, the testicles of male mouse lemurs grow to about 130% of their normal size increase It was estimated to increase sperm production, giving the individual advantage for further offspring.

There are several hypotheses related to the rapid evolution of mouse lemur species with this sperm competition. Valves are sealed in sexually inactive women, with valves open during the reproductive cycle. Vaginal morphology is also based on the time of day.
